Hi, my name is Aaron.

I have been an avid basketball fan my entire life. After watching about a decade worth of basketball I think that I have a pretty keen eye to notice the makings of a star in the NBA. One of my favorite things to do is watch and rewatch my favorite players and their peak moments to capture and recapture the feeling that I had when they pulled off an insane play. I’m going to start evaluating some of these players and those moments in order to encapsulate the player’s playstyle and how their career has…

The NBA is an ever-changing league with innovative head coaches and general managers at the helm, executing the changes. The way that NBA head coaches and general managers enact the most change in recent years is through team building. If you have followed the NBA in any capacity over the last five years you might have heard the term “positionless,” but what does “positionless” mean. It is a style that many NBA teams have employed when building their team in recent years, straying away from traditional positions. Gone are the days where general managers viewed teams through the lens of…

NBA Teams are always looking to the future and trying to build their franchises on the backs of young superstars. I am going to rank the best ten players under the age of 25 based on their current production not on how good I think their future will be. So before anyone gets heated that Zion Williamson is not in my top-3 it is because I am ranking based on current talent and achievements.

  1. The best player under-25 is Luka Doncic. The slick Guard from Slovenia has taken the NBA by storm. Many uncertainties were surrounding Doncic during the 2018…

While the NBA season is postponed I have had a lot of time to think about the what-ifs and fantasize trades that I think might be successful and fun for all fans of the league. The Philadelphia 76ers have risen from the depths of their 10–72 season in 2015–16 and established themselves as a consistent contender in the Eastern Conference. They have not been able to get over the championship hump yet and it looked like there was some regression in their play this past season. Although we may never be able to see how the 2020 season turns out…

With all sports on hold, ESPN re-ran both games five and seven from the 2016 NBA Finals on Wednesday night. I took the time to watch both games and among all the memorable LeBron James highlights that series showcased, I was pleasantly reminded about the greatness of Kyrie Irving and began to wonder why I needed a reminder of his greatness. Today, Irving is knocked by fans everywhere for his “poor attitude and inability to be a good teammate.” These insults have evidence behind them, NBA fans don’t just villainize Irving for no reason. After the Cleveland Cavaliers lost the…

On Thursday, March 26, among the chaos of the coronavirus, NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell announced that the NFL draft would continue as planned. I think that this is the correct move by the NFL commissioner. In a world where people are craving events and sports, I think the draft will take minds off of the unfortunate events that are consuming our news feeds daily. It will give everyone something to watch for a few days that does not relate to the coronavirus. So, the Cincinnati Bengals are still on the clock and the rest of the NFL awaits their turn…

And It Is Beautiful

The minds of basketball fans everywhere were completely dumbfounded when the Houston Rockets traded their center, Clint Capela, to the Atlanta Hawks and received Robert Covington in a 3-team deal. Everyone assumed the Rockets had another move coming where they would add a big man to replace Capela, but that was not the case. Instead, the Houston Rockets decided to utterly break the game of basketball and change it into a math equation. They came to the conclusion that their best chance to compete this year would be to attempt 45 to 50 threes a game…

One of the biggest storylines heading into the final 20 games of the season is the battle for the 8 seed in Western Conference, or what I like to refer to as: “Who is going to lose to the Lakers in 5 games?” The reality is, a team will emerge as the 8 seed and challenge the Lakers in the first round. I believe that team will be the surging New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans are filled with young talent, highlighted by Brandon Ingram, who is having a breakout year establishing himself as a consistent scorer in the NBA. Along…

On June 22, 2017, the Boston Celtics drafted Jayson Tatum, a lengthy wing from Duke University, with the third overall pick. When the Celtics took Tatum he was just a confident nineteen-year-old with dreams of NBA stardom. People immediately questioned the two squads ahead of the Celtics, the 76ers and the Lakers for taking Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball over Tatum. Many experts acclaimed Tatum as the best player in that 2017 draft class and saw his potential from an early stage in his career. The stardom of Jayson Tatum did not happen all at once. Many fans gave up…

This is such a simple question, but I believe there is no one correct answer. I don’t think NBA fans have seen the best version of this talented, 39–19 Clippers team. They have only had a full roster for 6 games this year and in those 6 games, they are undefeated. I believe that there is no team in the NBA that can beat a healthy Clippers team in a 7-game series. While this statement is popular there is still one glaring flaw with it and that is the health of the Clippers. Their two superstars, for whom they gave…
